Spicy Autumn

 Hello!

Tenderness and fragility of the October moodboard in the blog Mixed Media Place won me over! This moodboard is great, although it does not seem to me autumn. But one detail speaks about autumn, which I could not pass by. These are dry plants! They were the ones who inspired me to use dried flowers. Besides them, I also used orange chips and anise. I got a very spicy and bright autumn!!! I will show it to You now!

The Dress

 Hi!

The autumn nights are dark. And at the end of October, the night is not only dark, but also mysterious and magical. She's scary. Because the time of spirits is coming. In Latvia this time is called "Veļu Laiks". Our ancestors believed that the spirits of the dead come to visit and this parish must be respected. Ancient Latvians laid tables, opened windows, lit candles and believed that the spirits of deceased relatives were sitting with them at the table.

My work reminds us of these ancient beliefs and times. It's called "Dress". Perhaps it was in this outfit that some beautiful ghost visited his relatives on a dark October night ...

"Бабье лето", ты прекрасно!

 Всем привет!

Разве есть на свете такие люди, которые желают, чтобы лето поскорее закончилось? Скорее всего, нет таких. Но время продолжает крутить своё большое сакральное колесо, сменяя минуты, дни, недели, года, сезоны... Поэтому так ценно, когда наше любимое Лето, уступая место Золотой Осени, вдруг замрёт, оглянувшись на пороге, и подарит нам с вами "Бабье лето" - такое прекрасное и неповторимое! "Бабье лето" - это пятое время года! 

Именно это ласковое межсезонье вдохновило меня на создание данного тега! Эти нежные и тёплые лучи солнца, не такого густого и вязкого, как летом, а прозрачные, лёгкие, едва согревающие; этот прозрачный воздух, пронизанный нотками надвигающегося севера; этот тихий, без птичьих трелей, лес, начинающий разгораться золотом и багрянцем; эти серебристые паутинки, парящие над головой!... Сердце замирает, душа поёт и окно - настежь!

Надеюсь, мне удалось передать вышеописанное настроение в моей работе, вот она:

Я давно наблюдаю за заданием First Impression в блоге Первого Белорусского, но ни разу не принимала в нём участия. И вот решила показать свою работу в First impression сентября, тем более, что там такая шикарная доска вдохновения!

I dedicated this canvas to the memory of my older sister Svetlana, who, unfortunately, is no longer with us. Sveta's favorite pastime was reading books! That is why there is a whole stack of them at her feet!

Всем привет!

Этот холст я посвятила памяти моей старшей сестры Светланы, которой, к сожалению, с нами уже нет. 

Самым любимым занятием Светы было чтение книг! Именно поэтому у её ног целая их стопка!

Книги всегда были у неё на журнальном столике, и любую свободную минутку она посвящала знакомству с новыми книжными героями и событиями.

More Than Words! 

The condition of the assignment was the use of book paper in the work. I have one of the central elements - a large flower made from book pages!

Условием задания было использование в работе книжной бумаги. У меня один из центральных элементов композиции - большой цветок, сделанный именно из книжных страничек!

The second similar flower is located on the right in the composition.

Ещё один такой цветок находится справа от девочки, но там он несколько теряется в компании других элементов. Однако, при желании разглядеть его можно! ;-)

Voice of the sea, eye of the sea... / Глас(з) Моря

 Hello!

Today I want to show you a canvas. It is made from eco-friendly materials. These materials gave me the seas, the Adriatic (shells), and the Baltic - the pieces of wood from which the main element of the work is made: this is a wreath, similar to what we do for Christmas or Easter!

Гуляя по Балтийскому побережью в Юрмале, я, то и дело, натыкалась на небольшие деревяшки. Некоторые из них были кусочками сосновой коры, происхождение других было непонятно, но фантазия рисовала мне разбитые пиратские корабли... Я бережно собрала эти дары моря, и дома они сложились у меня в работу, воспевающую море, как праздник: у меня получился деревянный веночек, наподобие тех, что мы любим делать на Рождество и Пасху. Я назвала свой холст "Глас(з) Моря". Про голос (глас), я думаю, всем понятно. А вот глаз смотрит на нас прямо из середины веночка, видите? А он вас видит! ;-))
